October Chairman's Message

Hello, North MS Emmaus Community!

It is hard to believe there are only 2 walks left for our 2025 season. Walk #383 will begin Thursday, October 2, with Mike Shepherd serving as Lay Director and Walk #384 will begin on October 9, with Dawn McMinn serving as Lay Director. Please keep the teams and pilgrims in your prayers. Now is the time to send in your application to serve on a team! The easiest way to do this is on our website: northmsemmaus.org

Our Lay Director Training, Committee Coordinator Training, and Board Training will be held at the Christian Camp on Friday, October 24, and Saturday October 25. It will be an informative weekend designed to equip next year’s leadership for a busy 2026.

On a bittersweet note, it has been my pleasure and honor to serve this year as Chair of the Board. It has been a blessing and privilege to work with board members who have true servant hearts. Please thank Mitch Griffin, Cliff Hudson, Sheri Burrell, and Rev. Kerry Powell for their dedicated service as they complete their three-year terms. At the same time, I want to thank Rev. Matt Moehring for his leadership the last two years as Community Spiritual Director. Bill Grace will become the chairperson for the board beginning in 2026. Please be in prayer for our board as they lead us in 2026.  Again, I have appreciated the opportunity to serve the Lord through Emmaus.
