Dear North Mississippi Emmaus Community,
It is hard to believe, but another Emmaus year is already upon us. Walk 385 will begin on March 5, led by Michael Harlow, and Walk 386 will begin on March 12, led by Norma Leigh Perry. God has assembled two wonderful teams, and we are confident that the pilgrims will be richly blessed through these weekends.
We ask you to be in continual prayer for these walks, the leaders, team members, pilgrims, and for all that God has planned to accomplish this year. As Scripture reminds us, “Being confident of this very thing, that He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion” (Philippians 1:6). We trust that the Lord is already at work preparing hearts.
There have been several exciting updates at the camp this year, including new golf carts, an updated food closet, and renovated bathrooms in the break area. We are also grateful to share an encouraging report from our Camp Caretaker, Scott Coleman:
“There is light at the end of the tunnel! The camp grounds are in great shape thanks to some incredible men and women who helped with cleanup before and after the recent ice storm, as well as the camp burn-off. Other than some exterior paint on the new restrooms and waiting on the insurance check for materials for the agape building exterior repairs, we will definitely be ready for the first walk of the year, March 5–8. Pray that everyone will enjoy the new additions to the camp. Looking forward to watching GOD work this year!”
We are deeply thankful for all who have given their time and effort to prepare the grounds. Truly, “Unless the Lord builds the house, the builders labor in vain” (Psalm 127:1). We can already see His hand in the work that has been done.
As we begin this new season, we encourage each of you to prayerfully consider sponsoring someone for an Emmaus weekend. Ask the Lord whom He may be calling you to walk alongside. Please remember that a pilgrim cannot be assigned to a weekend until both the sponsor application and the pilgrim application have been submitted through the website.
Let us move forward with expectation and faith. “Now to Him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine” (Ephesians 3:20). May this year be filled with transformed lives, renewed commitments, and a deeper walk with Christ.
Thank you for your prayers, your service, and your faithfulness to this community. We look forward to watching God work in mighty ways in the year ahead.
In His Service,
Bill Grace
