Dear Emmaus Community,
It’s hard to believe that four Walks have already taken place this year. God has moved in powerful and inspiring ways, and the Candlelight services have been especially meaningful. Thank you for your continued faithful presence. Your presence is a blessing and an encouragement to all. Let us continue to gather with joy and expectation for what the Lord will do next.
We look ahead with anticipation to the upcoming Walks. The Men’s Walk will begin May 28 with David Groner serving as Lay Director, and the Women’s Walk will begin June 4 with Shannon Jones as Lay Director. We trust that God has prayerfully formed these teams and will work through them to touch hearts and transform lives. As Scripture reminds us, “And I am sure of this, that He who began a good work in you will bring it to completion on the day of Jesus Christ” (Philippians 1:6). Please continue to lift these Walks as well as all Walks this year in your prayers.
Many of you have witnessed firsthand how a single Walk can spark renewal; how a pilgrim arrives uncertain or weary, and leaves with a renewed sense of purpose, community, and Christ’s love. These moments are not accidental; they are the fruit of prayer, service, and faithful stewardship by this entire community.
A few reminders:
1) When sponsoring pilgrims, both the pilgrim application and the sponsor application must be submitted before a prospective pilgrim can be entered into the database for review. After submission, a board member will contact both the sponsor and the pilgrim before confirming readiness for Lesa Moore to follow up regarding possible Walk dates. We’ve received several incomplete submissions recently, which has caused delays, so please be sure both applications are turned in together.
2) We also want to highlight the importance of your financial support. Donations help sustain the North Mississippi Emmaus and the Christian Camp so they can continue serving where lives are changed and Christ is encountered. Every contribution (large or small) helps ensure that future pilgrims have the same opportunity to experience God’s grace in these sacred spaces. Your generosity truly keeps this ministry moving forward.
If you feel led to give, you can donate directly through our website:
Finally, thank you. Thank you for your prayers, your service, your generosity, and your unwavering support. It does not go unnoticed and it is deeply felt across this community. As we are reminded in Galatians 6:9, “Let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up.”
May God continue to bless each of you as you walk in His grace.
In Christ’s love,
Bill Grace
Board Chairman
