Hello North Mississippi Emmaus Community,
After several losses and our continuing battle with the COVID-19 pandemic, we are so very thankful to finally be able to begin this wonderful ministry again! We have been given a new year full of opportunities to touch others’ lives through the Walk to Emmaus. We are excited to see what the Lord has planned during 2021. Teams for the upcoming walks are preparing to share the Light of Christ with our incoming pilgrims. Please pray fervently for all involved with these weekends.
Our Emmaus caretakers, Rick and Bev Shepherd, have kept the camp in great shape. After experiencing a large storm during Easter of 2020 and the results of the COVID 19 shutdown there have been multiple difficulties. However, these issues have been addressed and the camp has already been operating this summer.
As you know, the backbone of each Emmaus Walk has always been prayer. Please continue to lift the camp, the teams and pilgrims in your prayers. Financial support is another way to help make this ministry possible. For those who have attended a Chrysalis Flight or an Emmaus Walk, working on a team, attending candlelight services, or attending sendoff and closing services are other ways to support this ministry.
Your Emmaus Board has already been very active in addressing the many areas that this ministry touches. Please remember the board and the upcoming walks in your prayers as we go through the remainder of this year.
DeColores!
Judy Smith, Chairman 2021
