September 2017 Newsletter

What a glorious year this has been for the North Mississippi Emmaus Community! Only God in Heaven has record of the true heart-deep changes that have occurred here on this holy ground. Those, who have been pilgrims or who have worked the walks or supported the walks in any way, realize that God has moved among us this year, drawing us closer to Him, and closer to one another. Let us honor Him with our praise for all that He has done!

I appreciate each one of you and the spirit of unity and cooperation as you have sought to fulfill your part of the Emmaus mission. Whether your part was on site as a team member or off site as a prayer warrior, you contributed to the overall success of the weekends. A huge “Thank You” to each of you, as well as to those who sponsored pilgrims, attended candlelight and closing! What a blessing all of you have been!

May you continue to offer yourself, your time and your talents unselfishly, even sacrificially, to Jesus, our Lord, Who gave His all for us, realizing that while you are serving others, you are ultimately serving Him. One day we want to hear Him say, “Well done, good and faithful servant; you were faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of your Lord” (Matthew 25:21).

Lastly, I want to express my gratitude to the Board of Directors for your diligence in serving and praying, and your example of steadfastness and love. Teamwork is a beautiful thing, especially when orchestrated by the Holy Spirit.

As we say farewell to outgoing board members Virgil Beaty, David Lott, Michelle Whittle and Clergy, Jim Woods, we also welcome aboard newly elected board members: Ralph Billingsley, Bubba Lehman, Sally Pearson, Michelle Stubbs and Clergy, Matt Moehring. Thank you for your willingness to serve!

“The Lord our God bless you and keep you; The Lord make His face shine upon you, and be gracious to you; The Lord lift up His countenance upon you, and give you peace” (Numbers 6:24-26).

DeColores,

Les
