Hello North Mississippi Emmaus Community!
It is hard to believe, but this year is already more than half over! Six walks have already been completed. Thank you to Les Miles and Sonja Chrestman and for their dedication and willingness to serve the pilgrims on Walk 337 and Walk 338.
Please continue to pray for teams and pilgrims of Walks 339 and 340, led by Anna Puckett and Sheri Burrell as their weekends approach in September.
I want to congratulate and welcome the five newest members of our Board. Their three-year terms will start January 1, 2020. You elected the following to serve:
Ginger Busbea – Kosciusko
Tammy Sutton – West
Peggy Yarbrough – Louisville
Doug King – Kosciusko
Thomas Dowd – Louisville (Clergy)
As has been mentioned in previous newsletters this year, our Emmaus database contains a large number of invalid applications (deceased, divorced, moved, no longer interested, etc.). This is filling our data base and causing lay directors problems when filling their teams. To correct this, we are asking members who wish to be considered for work on an Emmaus Team to fill out a new application. We have placed a team application on our website that you can complete online and email it as per the instructions in the application. If you have not already done so, I strongly encourage you to this if you wish to be considered. The application can also be downloaded and completed manually for those who do not wish to complete it online. For those reading this newsletter and know of other Emmaus members who do not have access to a computer, please download the application and give it to those members so they can be in the database. I also encourage the various Emmaus communities to encourage their members to send in their applications.
Our Board members are listed in this newsletter and we are always ready to help in any way we can. Please remember us in your prayers as we try to follow the Lord’s will for this camp.
DeColores!
